Yesterday we celebrated the final night of Gurudeva's 2012 Mahasamadhi Celebration. We had a beautiful Homa fire and Chitra puja.

The pilgrims got to enjoy several more days of classes with Satguru Bodhinatha. He covered many topics including an explaination of the four yogas, gratitude and appreciation, and insights into the Hindu views of the soul and humanities inherent goodness and divinity.

Yesterday, many of the Pilgrims had a wonderful time planting two different, special trees with Sadasivanathaswami. They then took a stroll through the temple gardens.

On day 2 of Gurudeva's Mahasamadhi, all the monks and pilgrims paraded out to the Swayambu Lingam for a Homa fire, stopping at Iraivan Temple and Dakshinamurti.

For those in Toronto: We are Observing our beloved Gurudeva's 11th Mahasamahi day, in the respective Homes of All Devotees. From a Devotee

Who says he is not here?
It is just that
my eyes cannot see his face
my ears hear not his voice
and that hurts ...
 
Yet, his presence is strong ...
his laugh breaks through the screens of gloom
his eyes peer through the veil of tears
"I'll be seeing you" -
he has given his word
for sure, he will break it not.
 
His powerful voice
so potent, so charged
awakens all that lay asleep
shaking loose the grime and grit
of yesteryears and lives before this
 
And yet, my heart still yearns
to feel the touch of your feet
so full of life
overflowing with love
just that one moment ..
Oh! so precious, so dear
 
You have given so much of yourself
Why do I ask for more?
"Infinite beings are you," you taught
Is that why my wants are too?
Still, all I want is to be with you
 
Hold me close, Gurudeva,
don't ever let me go
however blind, deaf or stubborn I be
don't ever let me go
 
all I can offer in return
for the trouble I put you through
is a heart filled with love for you
a mind filled with gratitude for you
a body that wishes to serve you
and a soul that is you
all you, only you!

Today we celebrate another full day of gurudeva's light and blessings. It is delightful to have a satsang with all his spiritual children.

Gurudeva: Mystical Alchemist

An alchemist is one who transforms, combines and makes new things, a magician/scientist who could turn lead into gold.


First, he turned a young ballet dancer into an embodiment of Siva
Then he turned a band of green boys into a renowned yoga order
He turned a decrepit Hawaiian resort into an endowed aadheenam
He turned a bunch of squabbling families into a spiritual fellowship
He turned our stubborn karmas to dust

He turned a longing for temple worship in to 37 temples worldwide
He turned wife and child abuse into positive discipline
He turned a grassy field into a holy Siva temple.
He turned a conversion-threatened Mauritian population into a renaissance powerhouse.
He turned a few dying Saivite embers into a blazing sun of Sivaness
He turned Kauai's ennui into a spiritual vision and the island's divisive ethnicities into an aloha spirit
And now is turning our lives from lead to gold, turning our consciousness from night to day'
