Jai Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami!

One of our long time devotees wanted to honor Gurudeva's life and the Guru Chronicles (which he writes "is a masterpiece beyond compare") in some way after Mahasamadhi this year and sent us this little poem, (while at the same time "borrowing" the magnificent artwork in the Guru Chronicles). We thought we would share it with you. Jai Gurudeva! Beloved Guru to countless souls!

Bodhinatha meets with guests after the weekly guided tour

Guests are given a rare opportunity to speak with Bodhinatha and receive blessings.

The Aadheenam celebrates Maattu Pongal

Part of Thai Pongal festivities includes what is called Maattu Pongal. (Maattu meaning Cow in Tamil) This is where Cows are teated with special reverence, provided treats, decorated and honored for the year's service to mankind. In the monastery we observe this in a simple and sweet way by decorating our cows and performing a short go puja (cow puja).

Today at the Monastery

This was a chilly morning, many of the monks having to wear hats and coats to stay warm. But once the sun came up it warmed quickly. The Ganapati Kulam continues their renovation work. Tour day today brought many guests who were all happy to explore the gardens and see Iraivan Temple.

Archives are now available through 2001. Light colored days have no posts. 1998-2001 coming later.
