Chisel Sharpener

Holly Young has sent these photos of the third silpi memorial wax, showing Manikandan (remember him?) sharpening a red-hot chisel. It's so charming how she captured his cloth wrapped up as a cushion, and everything else for that matter. Such a gift she has.

Holly has completed the molds for this one and they are now in Colorado ready to be poured.

First Delivery from the Quarry

Today a test run was made, bringing the first four of what will be hundreds of boulders from the Eleele Quarry to the temple site. We proved that the road is strong and the system does work. Even though these four boulders weigh about 25 tons all together, they are small compared to stones we hope to have. Designer Martin Mosco is hoping for 40 stones in the 20-25 ton range!

March Visitors to Kauai Aadheenam

Dr. K Sivakumar with wife Nimalka and children Yohan and Aari, visiting from Arizona. Sivakumar's father is visiting from Toronto, and uncle (seated) lives in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The uncle manages a business across the street from the hut Yogaswami lived in as a young man when he was working for the government in the irrigation project. The family got the Guru Chronicles book signed by Satguru today. In the second photo we have Varadhan family, originally from Kanchipuram area.

Celebrating Yogaswami's Mahasamadhi

Today we celebrated Satguru Yogaswami and acknowledge the countless blessings he has given us, gifts which continue to this day. Jai Satguru Yogaswami!
"When you are pure, you live like water on a lotus leaf. Do what is necessary, what comes to you to do, then go on to the next order you receive, and then to the next that comes." -Yogaswami

He advised, "Boldly act when you receive orders from within. You need not wait until all details are in order. If you wait for everything to be worked out, you may miss your chance. Have faith and do the work that comes from within. Money will trail after you if you are responding to divine orders. Helpers will come. Everything will come. You have only to follow carefully that which comes from within."

"He made me to know my self, our Gurunathan.
On my head both feet he placed, our Gurunathan.
Father, mother, guru--he, our Gurunathan.
All the world he made me rule, our Gurunathan.
Previous karma he removed, our Gurunathan.
Even "the three" can't comprehend our Gurunathan.
He sees neither good nor bad, our Gurunathan.
As "I am He" he manifests, our Gurunathan."

The Ganapati Kulam's Morning Meeting

With the GK is renovating the media studio they have been having their morning meetings outdoors in the banyan mandapam. The team is currently bolstered by 5 additional members, all helping with the construction.

New Task Forcer

Forrest Miller recently arrived from California. He is considering monastic life and has come for 6 months of first hand experience to see what it's really like. He has some skills in construction and for his first month will be helping the Ganapati Kulam in their media studio renovation, then on to the other kulams.

March 21st Homa

This morning began with a Homa, ushering sublime communications with the inner worlds. Prayers are burned to the devas as ghee is offered and Sri Rudram is chanted. Satguru Bodhinatha gave a lovely talk afterwards, discussing karma and our ability to mitigate negative karmas through living a spiritual life. He stated that one should view negative karma detachedly, as the next thing to do, rather then as a problem.
