Bodhinatha Comments on the Three Bonds, Sun One Upadesha

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Bodhinatha’s Latest Upadeshas – Why Are We Not All-Knowing? Three Bonds
Path to Siva, Lesson 23 Commentary (May 04, 2017)

The three bonds/pashas, given by Lord Siva: karma, maya and anava, are there to mature the soul. At first it is natural for the soul to be totally involved in the world to gain experience through Siva’s veiling grace/tirodhana shakti. As we eventually learn to exercise self control, over many lifetimes, God Siva grants His revealing grace/anugraha shakti. We claim our infinity, our oneness with God.

What Is the Nature of Our Soul

Bodhinatha’s Latest Upadesha

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

What Is the Nature of Our Soul
Path to Siva, Lesson 22(April 27,2017)

“The essence of the soul is Pure Consciousness and Absolute Reality.” There are three bodies, shariras, five sheaths, koshas, an inner and an outer aura. The chakras are windows of consciousness. We can find That which has never changed, then we’re deep within the soul. That’s a good place to look for Parasiva.

Scriptures; the Tirukural; Three Worlds and Conquering Ego with Devotion

Don’t miss Satguru Bodhinatha latest talks on Chapters 20 and 21 of the Path to Siva.

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Bodhinatha’s Latest Upadeshas – Our Scriptures; the Tirukural; Three Worlds and Surrendering Ego Through Devotion
” Path to Siva, Lesson 20 – Our Saivite Scriptures” (March 22,2017)
” Path to Siva, Lesson 21 – Three Worlds; Conquer Ego Through Devotion” (April 13,2017)

Within our Saiva Siddhanta Holy Scriptures the Saiva Agamas explain the basis of temple ceremonies and worship plus yoga and jnana. The Tirukural was considered by Gurudeva to be “the most accessible and relevant sacred text.” In it are practical and helpful guidelines for our conduct in every day life. The point of family life is to gain steady improvement, forever, in self control in the midst of responsibilities in the fulfillment of family dharma. Meanwhile, not taking detachment too far but taking it in the sense of spiritually looking for happiness, not outside in other people or possessions, the world, but inside ourselves and then sharing it with family and friends. “We regard the writings of our satgurus as scripture.”

Path to Siva, Lesson 20
Tirukural, Introduction and Contents

Tirukural, Chapter 15 Possession of Self-Control

“The temple enables us to feel the presence of God, Gods and devas.” We use our inner eyes to see what’s going on in the temple, the three worlds. In the temple we’re being good dvaitists in the dimfi perspective, focused in bhakti upon God Siva. In meditation we’re monists, in the shumif perspective. We claim our oneness with Siva, Sivoham, I am Siva. In surrender, shrinking the ego through devotion, we have a realization that we’re not the doer, that Siva is doing it all. Siva’s energy comes through our soul.

Latest Upadesha: Path To Siva – The Life of Saivites

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Bodhinatha’s Latest Upadeshas – What is the Nature of Life for Saivites?
” Path to Siva, Lesson 19 – Every Day Is a Day of Worship” (March 6,2017)

“Stand Strong for Saivism.” The nature of life for Saivites is to turn work into worship, to turn the secular into the sacred. Each day give a little extra warmth, humanness and upliftment to others. Every day is a holy day, all day long. We want to follow our religion even in our dreams. If we help someone, we’re worshiping. Wherever we are, that’s a place of worship. “To the Saivite Hindu all of life is sacred. All of life is religion.”

Bodhinatha's Mahasivaratri Upadesha

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Bodhinatha’s Latest Upadeshas – Mahasivaratri Upadesha, 2017
” Mahasivaratri, 2017 – The Four Stages of Your Personal Evolution.” (February 24, 2017)

The soul body takes many lifetimes to mature. The height of divine consciousness: There is no difference between you and God. Spiritualize what you are doing as you engage in the world. Unwind the karmas of the past. The stages in Saiva Siddhanta: Charya, kriya, yoga-meditation and jnana. In jnana you and Truth are one. Go deeply enough in meditation to identify with That which is eternal, always existed, never changed: Siva, Satchidananda, Pure Consciousness, Absolute Reality. Ask yourself: “What is the void or the nothingness which is the source of this consciousness?” Then you’re getting close, getting close.

Our Affirmation of Faith – All-Pervasive Love, Absolute Reality

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Bodhinatha’s Latest Upadeshas, Commentary on the Path to Siva, Lesson 18:
” Our Affirmation of Faith – All-Pervasive Love, Absolute Reality” (February 27,2017)

“God Siva is Immanent Love and Transcendent Reality.” Devotion is present in each of Saiva Siddhanta’s four paths in our relationship to God. When we begin the soul feels God is really far away. As we get closer and closer as in the lover and Beloved, it means a oneness. You alone exist and you are love. Love alone exists, which is Siva, but which is also you. I am Transcendent Reality and Immanent Love.

Golden Gurudeva Mahasivaratri Upadesha – 1989

Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami

Mahasivaratri Mangalam!

On this most holy night of the year we are pleased to bring you another golden audio treasure from the Gurudeva Audio archives: "Being in Siva Consciousness" some themes in this quintessential Gurudeva talk on Siva:

Siva is very accessible, everywhere. But the barrier is ignorance, forgetfulness. There are great truths throughout the entire universe, these great truths lie in your own superconscious mind, waiting to be used. See God Siva everywhere as all pervasive energy. Bliss consciousness, Siva consciousness. A story: "Why didn't you let Siva take you?" Everywhere a guru goes becomes his ashram. Leave the lower nature, look at Siva and don't see anything else. Siva is love and love is Siva. Find out how wonderful you really are. You'll become the knower of the known, the seer or the unseen, the embodiment of the Truth. Worshiping Siva with Himself, all the elements. Be in Siva consciousness.

Bodhinatha's Sun One Upadesha – Beliefs of Saivism

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Bodhinatha's Latest Upadeshas:
"Saivite Beliefs; Religion is Three Worlds in Communication " (February 20,2017)

In our teachings we're both monistic and theistic. In the beliefs of Saivism the idea of the three worlds is the basis and key to understanding temple worship, theism. The inner worlds are there to help you. The essence of the soul is already the same as the essence of God Siva, monism. You just have to find it.

What is the Meaning of Nama Sivaya?

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Bodhinatha's Latest Upadesha:
"What is the Nama Sivaya Mantra?" (February 13,2017)

The letter "Ya" in the Panchakshara Mantra, Namasivaya, stands for the soul. Bodhinatha uses the Panchakshara Mantra to show how the soul is initially drawn by Siva's veiling grace, which leads the soul to maturity through experience in the world. Then comes Siva's revealing grace. When we've had enough of the world, Siva's grace pulls us toward God. The mantra also has the simple, two-syllable form. Si- Reflecting on God the Transcendent Absolute, Va-God as the All Pervading Consciousness
