Mathavasi of the Day – Sadhaka Jayanatha
Today our Taka photographer (also known as the "Takographer or "photakapher") is attached to his desk, working one-pointedly on Hinduism Today, during these last few days in the production cycle. An easy time to photograph him for our Mathavasi of the Day.
Sadhaka Jayanatha is a member of the Ganapati Kulam. He has training in the skills of journalism, web design and coding, 3D and 2D animation, image manipulation, color correction, project management, construction and agriculture. Sadhaka is responsible for gathering and publishing the stories and photos that appear on TAKA each day and he also helps to create many of the monastery's online videos. He is one of the monks who performs the monthly Chitra pada puja honoring Gurudeva's mahasamadhi and is also one of the those who chant Sri Rudram during the weekly morning fire ceremony. On retreats, he assists Acharya Arumuganathaswami with the care of our large agricultural land across the river and also enjoys cooking special dinners, meditating and studying shum, sanskrit and puja. Sadhaka is one of our monks that does late night vigils, currently performing the 3am Ganesha abhikesham in Kadavul Temple.
