Ganesha Gets a New Roof
Recently, the monks finished the roof of Lord Ganesha's shrine in the vegetable garden. The structure has been in the works for some time and thanks to efforts of the Siddhidatta Kulam and particularly Nirvani Adinatha, it is finally complete, with the exception of the roof's ridge piece. The roof sheeting is done in copper, making for a very beautiful finish.

With copper sheeting, it is highly likely the structure is going to be hit by lightning.

That’s what came to my mind too! Hope it’s not a lightning prone place.
Indeed very kind of the Sadhaka & all who helped to give dear Ganesha the roof.

The monastery keeps getting nicer and nicer as the years go by. We look forward to visiting and enjoying all the improvements in this sacred place.

Dear Devotees and Bhagthaas !
Let me share your joy on worshipping a standing Ganesha ( very unusual for Him bec. of his body weight ) and while doing so suggest that there could be a protective shed above the copper plating that could ward off lightning effects or even a separate Lightning absorbing post right behind, without touching the copper plated roofing. I trust even Gods like Vigneshwara should be safeguarded from Natural calamities like lightning and stormy winds. Ommm Jai Ganesha!
