“Siva’s devotees, by remaining steadfast on the path, upholding the yamas and niyamas and relying on their indomitable will, move the forces of the world, and are not moved or affected by them. Aum Namah Sivaya. “
— Gurudeva

Bodhinatha seated for lunch at the Aadheenam. Today was the second day of the phase, when the Ekadanta Kulam shares news of its activities. It’s just a team of two, Talaivar Sannyasin Saravananathaswami and Sadhaka Dandapani. Swami said he had been working with communications to some young men interested in monastic life, make arrangements for Bodhinatha’s travel, proofreading Hinduism Today and newly designed documents for initiations for new sishya, and communications with the Tavil and Nadasvaram players in Toronto, to make arrangements for them to come to Kauai Aadheenam. Sadhaka Dandapani has been working on Innersearch follow up and has prepared a DVD with over 2000 photos for each of the Innersearchers which we will be sending out to them soon.

Bodhinatha’s next journey is brief, on the weekend of April 3-4 in the San Francisco Bay Area of northern California. He will visit with Saiva Siddhanta Church members and Himalayan Academy Students.

Kulapati Easan Katir and Kartikeya Katir are with us now on Task Force. Kartikeya is our official TAKA photographer during his stay.

He thought our fat orange coy fish worthy of a shot. These fellows do very well with all the leftovers we feed them.

Paramacharya Palaniswami painted the plaster replica of the statue of Gurudeva that we brought home from India.

It is a pretty good likeness to our beloved Sat Guru.

Current Overview

Iraivan from the Northeast corner.

Working on a roof beam.

These are huge!

Careful measurements commence.

Sthapati ascertains exactly what, if any adjustments need to be made.

The ends of the beams will sit on top of pillars

The section that meets the pillar has been taken down a few millimeters (on the left).

We had sunshine today after a week of rainy weather and the temple looks lovely in the afternoon light.

Many stones ready for the next lift aloft.

Entrance to the sanctum.

The top of one of the pillars.

Stone “windows”

Work on the end of a beam.

From the height of the hammer and the distance he holds it from the head, we know these are very “gentle” taps.

The blue tarps keep off the sun and rain …

Another beautiful spring day.

The head of the sanctum door, the Kailasa Parampara.

A grand celebration was held to welcome our new arulshishyas, Gunalan and Lalitha Ponniah into SSC family. The monthly homa was held at Kulapathi Murugesu’s residence, following the vrata taking ceremony of Gunalan & Lalitha Ponniah. It was Maasi Magam, an auspicious day for Lord Muruga and these couple were very blessed to take their vows on this day.

Invoking Lord Ganesha before starting the homa.

Reading a paragraph from Merging with Shiva to focus our thoughts and invoke the Gods.

The vibration of the homa was intense and over-whelming. Chanting of mantra after mantra and singing thevarams.

Burning of messages to the Devas….

seeking for help in our daily life, and thanking them for their help.

All members deep into the prayers….

Testimony Hour! Shivani Dasan telling her experience of how Lord Ganesha helped her through her studies, giving her strength to move on wherever she felt like giving up.

The ceremony awaited for. Gunalan and Lalitha Ponniah, read out their Parampara and Tithing vow.

Gunalan Ponniah was first to sign…

followed by Lalitha Ponniah

Kulapathi Silvaraju signs, happy to see his extended members taking another step closer to our Guru Parampara.

Kulamata Amutha was next to go….

They then blessed the couple by garlanding them.

Kulapatis and Kulamatas took turns to bless these couple and to welcome them into our SSC family.
