Yogaswami sang:

‘There’s no intrinsic evil,’ was his greeting
As he turned his loving gaze on me.
His grace was my initiation,
His priceless Feet, my shield.
‘Who ever doth know,’ was his refrain,
Which precious formula he gave me.
Endowed with exquistie wisdom is he
Whose benevolent Feet are my shield.
‘All’s Truth,’ was his refrain,
That he beamed at me with radiant face.
And unfailing was the spell of him,
Whose lotus Feet are my shield.
‘The perceptible universe, this Cosmos
Reflects the Form of Paraman’.
So spake the Beauteous One
Whose bejewelled Feet afford me protection.
‘Bethink the body as a temple of God,
And do thou so contemplate–‘
Thus he addressed me in accents of love.
His flawless Feet, my protection aught.
‘Birth and death revolve round
The wheel of attachment–So give up
Earthly ties,’ was his admonition.
His divine Feet are my amulet.

Two Bahai ladies came to visit today to hand deliver to the monastery a message from the Bahai Universal House of Justice to the religious leaders of the world encouraging interfaith dialogue as a way of moving toward the belief that God is one and that, beyond all diversity of cultural expression and human interpretation, religion is likewise one. One of the ladies is Ms. Elizabeth Hahn on the left who helped the monastery years ago get their internet connection when she was acting representative for a local telecom company. She came with her Bahai friend, Mrs. Elaine Reneau. Bodhinatha receives the message.

Cybertalk: Nartana ritau, the season from mid-April to mid-August, is the season for planning. Gurudeva put emphasis on the three seasons, as he liked variety, and Bodhinatha tells us all about looking ahead in part 1 of his talk on planning. Following the example of a business plan, we can come up with a detailed 6-year family plan, which we update annually, for the five divisions of life: spiritual, social, economic and educational.

Sannyasin Arumugaswami at his station… “command post” might be a better term… from here, as the managing editor of Hinduism Today, he coordinates the on-going creation of Hinduism Today magazine and the daily Hindu Press International new release on the web. In touch with correspondents and volunteers around the world, he handles an enormous amount of information every day. Current big projects on his plate are the coordination of correspondent Lavina Melwani’s trip to the UK and Rajiv Malik’s trip from New Delhi to Mumbai. Both these excursions are under the auspices of Hinduism Today and mark a new era for the magazine, in terms of going “big time” with news gathering to the extent of sending correspondernts to other nations and cities.
