On May 11, Arumuganathaswami, Shanmuganathaswami and task forcer Gajanan attended the Sustainable Agriculture Skill Panel Forum being sponsored by various government agencies including the University of Hawaii and the Department of Agriculture. One objective was to identify necessary skills needed to advance agriculture on the island that are presently lacking and to make concrete proposals as to how to get people trained in those skills. It was an enjoyable and thoughtful day.

But before skills, comes passion and desire, to make a difference, to be productive…then, everyone will be motivated…on the individual level to do what it takes to make the turn…

So very true.We have to understand that it is Agriculture that sustains us and not just tourism as many Islanders of other islands in the world seem to think. It is hard work but very necessary, beneficial and rewarding work which takes patience and sacrifice some times. In our Island( St Lucia) people need exactly that kind of motivation as it is encouraging to know what other else where are doing.Jai Ganesa.
