Gurudeva at the Abhiraman Amman temple in Denmark.

It is Sun One and Bodhinatha continue with another segment of his work on guidelines for teaching Hinduism to children. It’s turning out to be a really excellent piece of work.

Bodhinatha’s next travel is to Atlanta, Georgia, and Bethesda, Maryland. Please visit his travel page for more information.

Morning homa…

“The three worlds are connected when puja is performed and worship is begun. There are certain rites that can be performed to enable individuals to communicate directly with beings in the inner worlds. Prayers are given and received in many ways.”

“Among the most intimate, personal forms of communication is the written prayer to the devas or to God. Burned in Agni’s sacred fire, it disintegrates in the physical world and quickly re-forms in the astral world.”

Passing the flame

Bodhinatha reads his latest segment for Hindu parents.

Today he made a cogent list of the key values in Hinduism that parents need to explain to their children to make them realize the greatness of our religion.

It was an inspiring talk.

Kulapati Sivakumaren Mardemootoo is here with his wife Kavita and children. He’s having a great break from his intense life as an attorney in Mauritius.

Kulapati Sadhunathan Nadesan and Kulamata Dhanya Nadesan are on Kauai for a while. Sadhunathan “goes to work” at 5:30 am… working remotely with his company, Cast and Crew in San Diego.

The peace aftermath of the homa… all things seem just perfect….

This is the Palanivel family from Vancouver, British Columbia. They had met Gurudeva there when he had traveled to western Canada. They are originally from Mauritius.

In Mauritius we are now entering winter. It’s not yet that bitter cold and we have occasional showers during the day. Church activities are routine with our Monthly Ganesha Havana and the Master course seminars for children. Something is new, however. The construction of the Muruga Mandapam has started and we are sending the latest photos of it.

~~~~~~
The Spiritual Park is now welcoming the cool wind of winter blowing from the sea. Lush green vegetation abounds the whole place. Even little creatures, like this local lizard is peacefully enjoying the serene atmosphere pervading the place in the midday sun. A wonderful time for a visit!
More and more visitors are coming to the Park, especially on weekends.
When they go down the property to worship Lord Karttikeya, they have to pass by these Asoka trees, also locally called ‘le saule pleureur’ which are now growing healthily into tall trees. They seem to stand out like devas, angelic beings guarding that quiet spot of the Park.
At this time of the year one would see neem trees full of fruits on which
birds freely feed. Though the fruits look delicious, one does not eat them
directly. These are widely used in the preparation of Ayur Vedic medicines.
These neem trees grow a few meters from where is actually, under
construction, a Mandapam for Lord Karttikeya.
Here it is… Since quite some time the wish was expressed by local
residents to construct a mandapam to enshrine Lord Karttikeya. With
Satguru’s Bodhinatha’s Blessings the construction has nicely started. Our
hired contractor, the Dream Construction is doing a wonderful job to the
satisfaction of the stewards of the Park.
This Mandapam would be an open, six-sided concrete pavilion with a big roof
like the Mango Mandapam at Kauai Aadheenam . The very top of the roof may
be covered with gold leaf in future.
Concrete has already been poured up to the plinth.
Here is how the construction looks like if you are standing on the east with
your back to the sea.
Lord Karttikeya overlooking the sea. In the future devotees can come to
meditate at this quiet spot, facing the rising sun over the horizon…
Here is Naiga Pillay Rungapen (right) receiving her Trilogy from Mrs. Vani
at the Mini Mela. Naiga is a newly enrolled Himalayan Academy student living
close to the Spiritual Park.
Sometimes during heavy rainfalls, one can see rain water rushing down the
Ganesha Mandapam roof. A rare close-up of Nature’s most vital element on the
wooden structures, isn’t it! However, a plan is now in motion to replace the
thatched roof of the Mandapam that would help better control the flow of
this water.
