Sutra 243 of the Nandinatha Sutras

Seeking Inner Unity With The Satguru

Siva’s devotees meditate each morning upon their satguru’s inner form, striving earnestly to know his temperament, the contents of his heart and his essential nature, which is eternal, peaceful and unattached. Aum.

–Gurudeva

Bodhinatha is in wonderful spirits as usual and continues working every day early in the morning on his talks and during the day training Sadhaka Jivananandanatha, guiding the karmas of the missions and the sishya through email and editing publications in the afternoon.

This is classic view of the river valley from the edge of the monastery across to Iraivan.

Today was the last day of a short 4-day phase, and also the end of our spring Sadhu Paksha… During lunch both the Siddhidata and Ganapati Kulams shared news of their activities:

The Siddhidata Kulam has been working on a lot of projects as usual. Top of their news today:

  • We have had a few days of dry weather and the ground is firm enough for our forklifts to work without getting stuck in the mud. So the opportunity was taken to remove a few stones from the foundation of the temple that will not be needed for sometime, to make space for the next shipment.
  • Calls were made to Bangalore to help coordinate the next shipment clarifying the list of stones being sent.
  • The garden report was that we are having great success with two new varieties of Swiss Chard as well as lettuce, enough that we may be able to not have to buy lettuce from the store.

End of Phase Notice

The Ganapati Kulam (GK) also gave its report…

  • Here is Paramacharya Palaniswami at work on some web page upgrades.
  • He reports that S. Rajam is going to start soon on a new series of color paintings for the Tirukkural.
  • He has also been helping the Pilliyar Kulam with some print layout and design work for a new outreach program which we will tell you about next phase.
  • Kumarswami has been working hard on research and compilation of materials for the next Insight Section of Hinduism Today on Anger Management.
  • Arumugaswami continues on his articles and coordinating Hinduism Today correspondents and shared the news that our New Delhi Correspondent, Rajiv Malik will be cover the April Kumbha Mela. He is also working on the next edition of Book Three of the Saivite Hindu Religion Course for children.
  • Natarajnathaswami continues work on Hinduism Today articles.
  • Sivakatirswami has been doing R & D on re-purposing InDesign print layouts for the web and coding a new application to help Nitya Nadesan put the articles on the web.
  • Yogi Japendranatha has been working on various parts of the Saivite Hindu Children’s Course as well…

A small statue of Gurudeva on Palaniswami’s desk watches over his kulam’s activities…

Kartikeya Katir here with Gurudeva has been a wonderful spirit, very conscientious, helpful and a concentrated worker. This is his last kulam day at the Aadheenam and he will be going home on Monday morning and back to school the following day.

Sadhaka Dandapani took my request for photos of Kartikeya very seriously as you can see. We asked Kartikeya how he liked it here and how he was looking forward to going back to school…

He said “I really enjoy it here at the Aadheenam. I’m considering missing my flight and re-booking the return trip to California sometime in April of 2005!”

…just kidding…

Saravananathaswami takes delight in the spirit of today’s roaming camera…”Don’t you two have work to do?”

Ah, yes indeed we do…. the mailing to the Innersearchers, nearly completed.

Innersearcher Indra Sivayogam sends this photo from the UK where our beloved Paramaguru Siva Yogaswami had a puja done. She writes:

“Salutations, Aum Namah Sivaya.

The Gurupoojai celebrations were excellent. The photograph being sent by Email would show Sat Guru Yogaswamigal’s portrait adorned by a Chrysanth Garland, in crimson and yellow was made by my humble self. A long Abhishekam to the Sivalingam (Amirthagadeswarar with Abirami Devi beside Him was done well. Sang several Thevarams and compositions of Yoga Swamigal. The Ashdothram was recited eloquently

We continue with a week or so more of photos from our January Innersearch. Here is the bright and energetic and ever enthusiastic Satya Subramaniam. Satya is a student of Gurudeva’s teachings from San Paola, Brazil. He said, after his visit to the Kandasamy temple in Malaysia. “That was wonderful, if I went home today, I would be fulfilled!”

Of course, he went on with us to India where he had his Namakarana Samskara at Chidambaram itself. Now a full-fledged Saivite Hindu, we welcome you to our family! Satya, come for a visit to Kauai and then to our missions in California and Mauritius. And thank you for your ever vivacious up-the-spine-feelin’-fine spirit!

Leonora Orr is a resident of Kauai and had the good fortune to meet and get to know Gurudeva on various occasions. A veteran world traveler and a delightful heart full of light and joy, she was really a spiritual asset to our Innersearch family. Leonora regularly brings flowers to the temple here on Kauai. Thank you Leonora!

Here we are at the temple carving site in Bangalore, these little children, daughters and sons of the silpis are completely enthralled with the blond baby from America. Matthew Reese, was of course, pleased with all the love and attention from people a little closer to his size…. 😉

Madurai Meenakshi…

The mysteries of the spiritual light that shines out from the heart of the Mother in Madurai can only be known by those who go and meditate there.
