“Those who live with Siva personally guide their children’s spiritual and secular education. They teach and model respect, share what happens each day, have fun together and shower love and hugs upon them. Aum.” — Gurudeva

Bodhinatha in Malaysia at the big public function there

Bodhinatha’s next journey is brief, on the weekend of April 3-4 in the San Francisco Bay Area of northern California. He will visit with Saiva Siddhanta Church members and Himalayan Academy Students.

Discussions continue with Selvanathan.

Looking closely at the very front entrance of the temple through two “yalli” pillars.

Selvanathan is really pleased to be here. A lot of things that were discussed over the phone are much clearer now. He was also very surprised at the temple progress. At home, every stone is moved by hand, hoisted up by hand… and it takes a very long time.

With our team here using a forklift to move stones around on the foundation and then a crane to raise them up, things have gone much faster than he expected with only six silpis. He was really surprised when we told him on one day eight roof beams were taken up and placed… unheard of in India.

Terry Parish who is hired every month for a few hours to help with the landscaping is an experienced climber and arborist. Here he is up on the banyan tree on the east side of the Nandi Mandapam outside of Kadavul temple.

This banyan tree was beginning to take over the buildings. The roots can drop down and do serious damage… as we saw in India on our recent Innersearch pilgrimage. So the banyan gets a big trimming today.

Look at the sunlight coming through now!

Innersearch Hitesvara Saravan with Bodhinatha. After many years of service in the health care field in California, he has retired to the “Big Island” of Hawaii, where he runs a small farm now and works intently on his inner life.

Lisa Gibson from California. This trip was her first “immersion” experience of Hinduism and India.

We now have about collections of photos from seven different Innersearchers… It is interesting how each one has a different “eye” with the camera. From the Carole Kahn collection: Jeyendrapuri Swami, successor to Trichiswami and now head of Kailas Ashram. What a fine soul he is.

…continuing now with photos from Malaysia.. the final set for the evening public event at the Kandasamy temple and then on to January 20th..

Our sales team heads up the booth with energetic enthusiasm to sell Gurudeva’s works.

Refreshments were served too, thanks to the sponsorship of Yogendran and his team members.

The Launching Team takes a shot with Satguru..

Bodhinatha then for sat continuous giving of vibhuti and darshan for 2 hours, and he still looked as energetic as ever when he took leave of the hall.

While Satguru gave his darshan, the Innersearchers were escorted to the nearby Kshipra Restaurant to have their dinner.

It was Kulapathi Dhasan’s birthday. We couldnt miss taking this opportunity for a celebration, could we?

The clock turns through one night we arrive here on January 20th…the 2nd Day with the Innersearchers.

Breakfast with Rema & Bhani Karthigesu from Singapore.

Boarding up the bus to Batu Caves..Sivakatirswami is sure to turn and give a wide smile no matter where he is!

Batu Caves, Here we come!.

Satguru arrival is welcomed grandly on arrival by the Batu Caves temple committee members.

Greeting Bodhinatha with a kumbha…

to be continued: more to come in the days ahead….

2005 Indian Odyssey

The 2004 Indian Odyssey was a great success. Ninety pilgrims spent 21 days together with Bodhinatha in Malaysia and South India. Our next Himalayan Academy Travel Study Program is planned to be a 10-day cruise on the South side of the equator, with ports of call in New Zealand and Australia, and events with local Hindu communities there. We expect this to be held in the fall of 2005, in October or November, depending on ship routes.

There have been three Innersearch cruises, all very focused on classes. If you would like to get to know Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami and Gurudeva’s remarkable metaphysical teachings first hand and explore the Hindu spiritual tradition with Gurudeva’s monks and with others on the path, start saving now to join us. Send a message to our coordinator, Sadhaka Dandapani, to put your name on an advance notice list to make sure you get details as soon as they are out.
