Yogaswami sang:

“Ever present in all beings, Oh Immaculate One!
Entrancing Beauty in all art Thou too!
Permeating in pebble, rock and imposing trees
And flourishing e’en in grass and weed as well.

Essence of Harmony, Thou divine Songster,
No other Lord will I revere but Thee.
In worship meek will I sing thy glory.
Deign to heed my garland of praise to Thee.

–Natchintanai. 120.

Pandit Samavedula and Hari (blue shirt) receive darshan from Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami. They have founded and are directing the Vydic Yagnya Center, formerly of Montreal, Canada, and recently reestablished in San Diego California. They were impressed to meet some of the Innersearch Kauai 2002 participants and marveled at the palpable “happiness” exuding from them. “No wonder, they are in Heaven, here,” Pandit added.

Pandit and Hari are enthusiastically dedicated to the cause of yagnyas (fire ceremonies), Hindu ritual and priest services. They work with a body of “traveling priests,” available to travel to any part of the world to perform special ceremonies. In a cause dear to Gurudeva’s heart, they are dedicated workers to educate and uplift the Hindu priesthood in our society. Need a wedding performed? Watch for their very professional advertisement in the upcoming issue of Hinduism Today, the October-November-December ’02 issue.

Here is our group photo from last week’s event. What a great satsang it was! While Hindus in Malaysia, Singapore and Mauritius have the opportunity for large Hindu gatherings of devotees, it is not always so easy for Hindus in the west. Being able to join together in the spirit of worship and dedication to spiritual life is a rare and precious opportunity here. Again, we think with gratitude of our beloved Gurudeva, without whom, none of this experience would have ever come to be.

Innersearcher Arial come by after the innersearch with her husband Jeff Smith who is a lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia who often comes to Hawaii on business and her brother Michael who also came on innersearch. We gave Jeff a tour of our publication facility.

This is Tom and Sunita from San Jose California. They got married a week ago. Tom is a Catholic Italian/Hispanic. They had both a Christian and Hindu wedding in the Church. Tom is in the computer industry. Sunita is a nurse and knew about the temple here in Hawaii and wanted to come for blessings on their union. Another cross-cultural couple

This is Patmavathi Krishnan who came on Innersearch with her husband Ravichandran. It was her first visit as we mentioned yesterday. She got inspired to collect chips of stone from the Iraivan Temple carving site.

These are exquisite pieces which she plans to take home to sell for donations for Iraivan Temple.

The dream… here manifested in the model of the temple we made nearly 15 years ago, is becoming a reality.

The Flag of Hindutva flies beautifully in the stiff breeze today with the Iraivan site in the distance.

We bring you scenes from the island of Mauritius which is nearly the same size as Kauai, but has much more habitable land. Many Hindu temples dot this “Pearl of the Indian Ocean”

SATGURU BODHINATHA VISITING MAURITIUS SEPTEMBER 2002

HH Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami is landing on the little island of Mauritius on September 7th and will be going directly to the Kailasum Temple in Port Louis from the airport. This is one of the first South Indian style Siva Temples built in the island. The temple was renovated recently and a new gopuram was constructed by masons and craftmen from India and Sri Lanka to enhance its Saiva Agamic look.

This is the front of the temple where one passes through the large finely carved wooden doors at the Gopuram. One can see the tall Kodimaram or flag post. On September 7th, Satguru Bodhinatha will be giving a talk on parenting at the temple Mandapam. Kulapati Manon Mardemootoo is liasing with the Temple management regarding this first day activity of Bodhinatha’s visit.

This is a rare sculpture of God Siva under a tree playing the Vina, a very ancient mystical Saivite string instrument. One can see more of these nicely carved sculptures on the Kylasam Temple dome and gopuram while walking around it.

Ravi Burse and his wife are from India. They are in Mauritius for quite some time and say they do not feel home sick each time they come to the Park to have the darshan of Lord Ganapati at the Mandapam. Ravi Burse is the Maintenance Manager of a large pharmaceutical plant in Mauritius.

This is a fine young man from Curepipe who is very much interested in Gurudeva’s teachings. Kiran Keerodhur an ex-computer engineer of Harel Mallac has purchased a few of Gurudeva’s books and is reading Living With Siva to his whole family every evening. He has actively participated in our last Ganesha Homa and gave a wonderful testimony too. He has just come from further studies abroad. As a professional in his IT domain, Kiran has big vision of Information Technology in Mauritius and is most happy to support the Park with his know how.

These are disciples of Swami Purnanandji Maharaj visiting the Park. They find it very quiet and inspiring for meditation. They have an ashram in Mauritius at Terre Rouge. One of them, Rajesh Misra is the director of “Yoga Darshan”, a yoga institute based in Delhi, India.

Our happy family here is from Flacq. Kulapati Mougam Pareatumbee with his wife Saranamutha and their two charming daughters Bijamathi and Padmini. Kulamata Saranamutha is from Singapore and is a trainee catalyst at the Himalayan Academy MC classes for children at the Park. Kulapati Mougam, a professional in Hotel Catering business just went traveling to Japan and Hawaii where he joined Innersearch on Kauai.
