Blessed Selves,
OM Namah Sivaya,

With deep grief I came to know about the Mahasamadhi of His Holiness Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswamiji.

The world has lost a great spiritual light, the incarnation of a great Rishi, of Love, Light and Wisdom. His Holiness Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswamiji inspired millions of seekers, especially millions of Hindus living outside of India who struggled to intergrate two cultures into their lives, the Western and Eastern traditions. For those Hindus, His Holiness was a guiding light and a bridge, helping them to unite their beliefs.

Through the international magazine of Hinduism Today and his numerous books such as “Dancing with Siva”, “Merging with Siva”, “Loving Ganesha”, “How to become a Hindu” and other literature, His Holiness has left a great heritage for future generations.

As a Hindu monk who has resided out of India for 30 years, I feel immense grief in my heart and great pity, for we will now miss in this world a great saint. To his successor, Satguru Sri Bodhinatha Veylanswami, as well for all monks and sadhakas of the monastery, I wish the blessing and divine guidance of His Holiness Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswamiji. According to the belief of Hindus and saints, and the divine words of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, one never dies. Atma is unborn, immortal and infinite. Let us all follow the teachings and path of His Holiness Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswamiji. I pray to the Almighty that he may merge into the Light and Eternal Peace of the Divine.

With great sympathy and with blessing, Yours Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda

Title: Controlling Anger part 1

Category: Good Conduct

Duration: 10 minutes, 4 seconds

Date Given: May 28, 2002

Date Posted: June_20_2002

Given by: Bodhinatha

Cybertalk: In part one of a talk on anger, Bodhinatha speaks of the various levels of difficulty people have with this instinctive state of consciousness. Gurudeva gave some very useful suggestions and remedies in this area. Anger expresses itself in different people in different ways. Usually someone is calm, and they lose it once in a while. Others lose it all the time; they’re always upset about something. Others are selective–they’re nice to everybody except a few people, such as their spouse. Gurudeva says a lot about anger in his Master Course Trilogy. Gurudeva’s core point on anger is that it’s the most difficult fault for people to overcome because it comes in so many different forms. Gurudeva drew on the eight forms of anger from the book “Angry All the Time.” The ladder of anger goes all the way from the most subtle “sneaky anger” to the last rung, blind rage. Bodhinatha remarks that it’s amazing how important Gurudeva thinks swearing is, as he wrote an entire chapter about it in Living with Siva. Swearing is the fourth rung on the ladder of violence. Bodhinatha talks about how swearing creates a negative force, a balloon of negative energy, around a person which stirs the lower chakras and ruins their life.

Our photographer stands 10 feet up in the inner sanctum and takes a photo of the silpis getting stones in position on the foundation, to be lifted up with the forklift.

Course number ten is complete and the silpis have filled in the inner chamber with sand. They will leave the outside exposed so that pilgrims coming for Guru Purnima and Innersearch Kauai 2002 will be able to see the carving work.

Please give generously, we need your help to keep our silpis here and more stones coming from India.
