Today was Chitra day and we performed the monthly Guru puja for Gurudeva. Here is our pujari for the puja, Sadhaka Jivanandanatha.

Some wonderful soul brought incredibly fragrant gardenias and Puakenikeni flowers. We could all feel Gurudeva on the inside.

Jai Gurudeva! These wonderful verses from the Natchintanai songs of Paramaguru Yogaswami say it all:

SERVE HIM, SERVE HIM.
Serve Him by selfless service
and attain Wisdom,
Serve Him by selfless service
and enjoy serene Peace.
Serve Him by selfless service
and aim at Magnanimity.

Serve Him by selfless service
and revel in sweet Harmony.
Thy bondsman shall live
in the hearts of all.
Thy bondsman shall live
in humility with all.

Yogi Japendranatha who assisted with the puja sits quietly after the puja.

We continue with the verses from Siva Yogaswami:

Thy bondsman shall live
as a friend of all.
Let deeds and not words
be my watchword.
All living forms shall I
behold as my form;
The beneficence of all
shall betoken my benignity,
The strength of all shall
add to my own strength.
Then shall noble friends
esteem my words
Whate’er doth betake us,
let it pass by;
Whate’er is concieved
let it remain so;
Incomprehensibly bright
are the Feet of Splendour,
Rejoice in the gracious
Feet of the Guru divine.

With Vaikasi Visakam tomorrow the temple is full of energy. Here is Sadhaka Jothinatha performing the afternoon Ganesha puja.

Meanwhile our tireless homa priest, Sadhaka Tyaganathan prepares the homa altar for the homa tomorrow morning.

Narayanan and Sheela Venkatakrishnan visited the Bangalore work site and brought back these photos of some of the incredible work that has been completed there. These are the tops of the Tara Pillars. The part that is turned to the ground will actually be up against the celing of the temple and the small square you see on the top will rest in a depression at the top of the pillar which you see on the rigth a bit to the back. And the base which is on the floor is standing right next to it in the back.

People comment that work like this has not been seen in centuries in India. Rarely are carvers give the time to do such exquisite work.

Please donate generously. If you would like to sponsor one of these remarkable pillar please contact use at iraivan@hindu.org for more information.
