Shankaracharya and Mandanamisrar's wife were on an argument about "meemaamsam". If Shankaracharya wins the argument then Mandanamisrar should take sannyas, on the other hand if Shankarar loses then he has to give up his sannyas. Eventually Shankarar wins the argument and Mandanamisrar follows him as a sannyasin.
