Why so Many isms?

Why are there so many "isms?" Why, if there are so many enlightened people, do they each have their own version of the Eternal Truth? Gurudeva explains that he and his swamis spent many years researching this and many other questions, and the answers are in the book Dancing with Siva. It is in local bookstores (or at least it should be) and it is also right here on the web!

Unedited Transcript:

A question from Texas, came in through e-mail, wanting to know more about Sanatana Dharma, Saivism, Vaishnavism, Saktism, Smartism. Why are there so many "isms"? And why are so many enlightened people, why do they have so many different opinions about the Sanatana Dharma?

Cyberspace cadet in Texas, we have worked for many years creating Hinduism's Contemporary Catechism, called "Dancing with Siva". It's the only book in Russioa on Sanatana Dharma because it was translated into Russian language. It's a standard in some universities. Within, it explains all about Saivism as well as Vaishnavism, Saktism, Smartism, the major sects within the Sanatana Dharma, as well as the other religions of the world. "Dancing with Siva" is available in most bookstore chains. But, for free, you can see it and read it and print it out on the internet. Just search around in our website and enjoy "Dancing with Siva", Hinduism's contemporary catechism. Ask any questions you want about what you don't understand. We'll be happy to answer them for you.

When we begin to meditate, we have to transmute the energies of the physical body. By sitting up straight with the spine erect, the energies of the physical body are transmuted.
