Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami reads his editorial from the July/August/September 2016 edition of Hinduism Today magazine. "It is easy to talk high philosophy in Hinduism, 'man is God,' 'we are divine,' it is easy to say profound things...however to put these principles into practice to the extent that we really are a more spiritual person, that is the challenge. And that, is what we will explore here." Bodhinatha considers 5 ways the attitude of a dancer is similar to an individual who is keen to progress on the spiritual path and offers guidelines as to how to improve on the spiritual path. In essence we need to look for opportunities to improve and perfect our character, control the instinctive, intellectual and egoistic mind, perform dharma, selfless service, cultivate devotion and purify the mind, just like the dancer seeks to perfect his dancer in time through regular practice.
