Making Dharma Your Own - Publisher's Desk

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami reads his editorial from the October/November/December 2016 edition of Hinduism Today magazine. "Dharma is a complex and comprehensive term with many meanings, including religion, divine law, law of being, way of righteousness, ethics, duty, responsibility, virtue, justice, goodness and truth." Bodhinatha refers to Auvaiyar's Atti Chudhi verses - first verse focusing on the desire to fulfil dharma and discusses the five main aspects of dharma, namely, living virtuously, selfless service, maturing in the ashrama dharma (brahmacharya, grihastha, vanaprastha and sannyasa), understanding the goals of life and fulfilling obligations and responsibilities to society.
