Katraver Vilangum

Tirumurai: Nine | Thiruvisaipa | chEn^dhanAr (Senthanar) is one among the nine devotees who sung the Divine Music Thiruvichaippa. His compositions form the second set in the Thiruvichaippa.

    Katravar vilungum katpaka kaniyai,
    Karaiyilaa karunai maa kadalai.
    Matravar ariyaa maanika malayai,
    mathippavar mana mani vilakkai.
    Setravar purangal setra em sivanaith,
    thiru viili milalai viitri runtha.
    Kotravan thannai kandu-kandu ullam kulira,
    yenkan kulirn thanave.

    Translation

    The (all desire granting) kaRpaka fruit that is
    intaken by those who have learnt (Its glory);

    The Great ocean of grace that has no bounds;

    The Mount of (precious) mANikka gem that is
    not known to others;

    The splendid lamp in the
    mind of those who honor It;

    Our Lord shiva
    Who won the cities of the foes;

    The King, Who resides in thiruvIzimizalai -

    On seeing Him on
    and on the heart becomes cool and so my eyes
    also became cool (in enchantment).
